Naan நான்(English: Me) is a 2012 Tamil crime thriller film directed by Jeeva Shankar starring composer Vijay Antony in the lead role, who also produced the film and scored the music. Siddharth Venugopal and Rupa Manjari both appear in their second Tamil films in supporting roles. The film began its first schedule in April 2010.[1] The film released on 15 August 2012 and received positive response.[2] ==Plot==Spoiler Alert Karthik (Vijay Antony) is a brilliant student in his school who always gets first rank. Once the school head master catches him for helping his friends for signing their mark sheets. The head master asks him to bring his father to the school. He goes back to his house and knocks the door. But no one opens the door. While he peeps through the window he see a shocking incident that his mom is with another guy in the village. His mother opens the door and asked him not to tell this to his father. But he tells it to his father and he commits suicide by knowing about the illicit relationship of his wife. But Karthik's mother continues her relationship with that guy. Karthik kills his mom and the guy by putting fire in his house, he is sent to juvenile home and grows up there. On release, the jail warden gives him the address of his uncle (father's younger brother) and asks him to concentrate in his studies. He goes to the address which the police warden gives and he realises that his uncle's wife didnt have interest in giving Karthik a shelter. He leaves from there and boards a bus to reach Chennai to start a new life.
As fate would have it, the bus meets with an accident and his co-passenger Saleem dies. Karthik picks up his certificates and joins a medical college by changing his identity as Saleem. He comes across a rich friend in his college, namely, Ashok (Siddharth Venugopal) and also gets friendship with Rupa (Rupa Manjari), lover of Ashok and many others. Ashok allows Karthik to stay with him in his house. Once Ashok and his friend go to a trip with some girls without telling to Rupa. When Rupa comes to Ashok's house she comes to know about this from Karthik. But he tells that Ashok is a good guy and he is very sincere to her. There, some serious problem arise between the three and Ashok slaps Karthik. Ashok also tells him to look another shelter. One night, Karthik comes to Ashok's house and tells him that he will leave the house on next morning. But Ashok has some doubt in the identity of Karthik. He opens the briefcase of Karthik while he goes to shower. He finds a photograph from the briefcase. Ashok identifies the father of Karthik from the photo. He confirms that Karthik is not Salim because he introduced another guy to Ashok as his father. Suddenly Karthik enters the room and ask Ashok to give back the photo. Ashok removes the towel that Karthik wears and confirms that he is not a Muslim. Karthik gets angry and pushes Ashok and wears the towel back. Suddenly he realized that Ashok is dead beacuse of his push Ashok's head gets a hit. At first, he gets shocked by this unexpected acccident and then he tries to cover up that murder intelligently. He is able to cover it up for a while until Suresh friend of Ashok find out. Karthik kills Suresh. The next day the police come and say that they found suresh's dead body.Karthik is very scared at this point.
They interrogate and never find out Karthik did it. Karthik continues living as Saleem after asking Saleem's dad

Production
The film was initially launched in 2008, with Siddharth Venugopal portraying the lead role with Rukmini Vijayakumar playing the lead female role, however due to the failure of his previous film, the producer Oscar Ravichandran called off the project.[3] The film re-started with Vijay Antony's interception in 2010.
