Chapter – 19 – The significance of Srimad Bhagavath Mahapuran
Sutha Pauranika describes the source of the Jewel of all the scriptures ‘Srimad Bhagavath Mahapuran’ which was received by Lord Bhrama from Lord Sriman Narayana, in the form of  Chathushloki Bhagavath.  Later, it was retold to Maharishi Narada by Lord Bhrama.  It was narrated by Maharishi Narada to Maharishi Vedavyasa who retold to Shukhadev Maharaj in Badarikasharam.  Later, it was retold by Shukadev Maharaj to Pareekshith in Naimisharanya.
Shuka, Shaunaka and eighty eight sages and Rishis assembled were elderly, Sutha Pauranika was young, Shaunakadhis prostrated before him and asked “ Bhagavan, kindly shower brightness like Sun in our hearts to remove the ignorance, and shed the light of supreme wisdom, knowledge, devotion, and a sense of renunciation.  Kindly enlighten us the knowledge which could remove the Thapathraya/Samsara Dhukha Bhaya Shamanam/three types of miseries and fear.”
Sutha Pauranika describes the qualification required for a person to be seated as speaker of the scriptures must be a Vipra/twice-born who sincerely perform all the Bhraminic rites, he should have thorough knowledge on the subject, he must be a renounced soul, he should have thorough knowledge in Veda and Vedanta.  It was the beginning of Kali era, the people became lethargic to perform spiritual or religious rites, they have become pleasure-seekers, wicked and deceitful, intellect was polluted with impurities/Ragadhvesha, and people are troubled with short memories, disbelief, and lack of devotion, illnesses, addictions and short life span.  The Shukashaunakadhis had six questions in their mind to get it clarified from Sutha Pauranika. (1) What’s the source of spiritual advancement in the Kali era? (2) What is the essence of all the scriptures? There are several scriptures available and it requires 500 years to go through it, but the life span is too limited in Kali Yuga. (3) Why did Lord Krishna personify on the Earth? What was the purpose of his incarnation? (4) what are the passionate sports of Lord Krishna? (5) What are the various incarnations of the Supreme Lord? Kindly describe them (6) Where does Dharma exist after Lord Krishna’s departure from the Earth?
Sutha Pauranika describes pure devotion and love to the supreme Lord is the only source for spiritual advancement in the Kali era.  The methods of contemplating upon supreme Lord in his marvelous form, reciting his glorious myths and remembering his pastimes would purify the intellect of the individual.  The essence of all the scriptures, Veda, Ithihas, Puranas, narrates the path of righteousness,  Srimad Bhagavath Mahapuran describes the endless pastimes of Lord Krishna which cultivates pure love to Lord.  Therefore, Srimad Bhagavath Mahapuran is the essence of all the scriptures.  The Supreme Lord incarnates on the Earth to perform various amusements and purify the intellect of the souls.  The entire Bhgavath Mahapuran speaks about the various passionate sport of Lord Krishna.  Though the Supreme Lord has various incarnations, there are twenty-two Avathars speaks highly about his splendor that are SanakaSanandhanaSanathkumaraSanathan, Kapila, Prithu, YajjyaRishabhadeva, Mohini, Dhanvanthari,  Buddha,  VedavyasaNarada, Nara Narayana, MatsyaKoormaVaraha, Narasimha, Vamana, ParashuramaSrirama, Balarama, Srikrishna, and impending incarnation as Kaliki.  The supreme Lord performed various passionate sport and once the purpose of the incarnation was over, he returned to his supreme abode, the Dharma took its shelter in Srimad Bhagavath Mahapuran.

Chapter – 20 – The legend of Athmadeva
Sutha Pauranika describes the legend of Athmadeva,  a pious Brahmin who lived with his wife Dhundhuli on the river banks of Thungabadhra.  Athmadeva and Dhundhuli had no children after several years of marriage; he was distressed to think of the end of his clan and absence of offspring to perform ancestral rites.  He witnessed even the trees and shrubs in his home are not giving fruits or flowers, his cow was not given calves.   His wife Dhunduli was not a pleasing woman, she had no belief in religious rites, and she was wicked and greedy.  One day Athmadeva set his travel to the woods, where he met a Yogi and revealed his pathetic state.  The saintly person advised Athmadeva to remain contented with his present life.  But Athmadeva was yearning for a child, so the Yogi gave a divine fruit and advised him to give to his wife so that she could conceive with a child.  Athmadeva prostrated before the Yogi and returned home extremely happy.  He handed the fruit to his wife Dhunduli who was not happy with the idea of conceiving a child which could spoil her physical attractiveness.  She had no faith in the divine fruit, so she handed the fruit to his sister who was already pregnant with a child, eventually, her sister fed the cow with the fruit in their home.  The two sisters had an agreement; Dhundhuli would keep the child born to her sister and share all her wealth with the child born to her.  Her sister was immensely pleased with the idea and offered her help to look after the child.
The two sisters returned to their maternal home for delivery.  In due course of time, Dhundhuli’s sister gave birth to a child; in the meantime, the cow in the house of Athmadeva also given birth to a human child who had ear resembles the ear of a cow.  Dhundhuli returned home after the delivery with the child of her sister was named Dhundhukari.  The child born to the cow was named Gokarna who has the ear resembles a cow.  The two children grew up together in different ways, Gokarna was pious like his father AthmadevaDhundhukari has grown wicked and selfish like his mother Dhundhuli.  Athmadeva who was leaving home was stopped by Gokarnna and said " Oh! Father, where are you leaving? why are you leaving? "  Athmadeva said " Son, I am leaving this material world, I am fed of this life.  I was not willing to listen to the Yogi who advised me to be content with what I have.  I  was asked for boon and brought Dhundhukari in this world, and others are going through the atrocities of him. "  Gokarna who had supreme wisdom advised his father " Oh! Father, contemplate upon supreme Lord, we are guests in this material world.  We have to leave this world anytime.  The soul is different from the body, it has to leave once the Karma is over, therefore do not feel desperate.  We are travellers in the world of Samsara conducts journey together and once the Karma is over, we have to return to our destination, therefore do not keep attachments with your co-travellers like wife, children and relatives, live with peace and generosity while living in this world, do not keep any attachments.  Therefore contemplate upon the supreme Lord who resides as a soul in the living beings."   Thus, the atrocities of Dhundhukari forced Athmadeva to return to the woods; he undertook extreme austerities and Tapasya and attained Moksha.  Dhundhuli had to undergo mental and physical tortures of her son and she also left her mortal coil.  Gokarna left for spiritual tour.  Dhundukari got into the association of morally wrong people; he committed various sins, put himself into danger and had accidental death.   After death, Dhundhukari attained the form of a spirit and wandered all over.
Gokarna who was leading a righteous life in the village came to know about the unexpected death of his brother Dhundukari and performed his final rites in Gaya.  One night, he could hear somebody forcefully knocking at his door.  He went to check and found no one at the door, all he could witness was fog like a form before him; it was his brother Dhundukari who had attained the form of a spirit.  Dhundhukari desperately asked for help from Gokarna to get released from the body of the spirit.   Gokarna felt pity on his brother and promised that he would do something to get relief for him.  The next day, while performing the sun worship, Gokarna appealed to Lord Surya to advise him to resolve his brother’s problem, Lord Surya advised reciting Srimad Bhagavatha Mahapuran.  A grand recital program of Srimad Bhagavatham was organized, Dhundhukari was invoked in a bamboo shoot with seven holes, and at the end of the everyday recitation, one of the eyes of bamboo shoot thirst opened as a sign that Dhundhukari getting relief from his state of spirit.  At the end of the seventh day of recitation, Dhundhukari attained liberation.

Oh! Bhuvanamangala, I shall repeatedly prostrate before your lotus feet which is the source of all the auspiciousness, which is not available to morally wrong people.  Oh! Natha, whoever listens or recites the sacred Veda with intense devotion and faith, it would bring the magnificent fragrance of your lotus feet, that worshiper would attain your eternal presence in their lotus-like hearts.  People who do not surrender at your lotus feet would be tormented with extreme fear and sorrows, grief caused by uncontrollable desires, fear of wealth, and conflicts.    People who are not willing to listen to your glories, or recite your sacred names would remain glued to the worldly matters and commit various treacherous sins.  Oh! Urukrama/extremely valorous, I am extremely worried about the people who are immersed in the seasons like uncontrollable sensual pleasures, anger, selfishness, miseries, and grief etc… Oh! Esha,  The souls are not unaware of the results of uncontrollable sensual pleasure which could provide several births and undergo immense sorrow, even the saintly people who keep themselves away from contemplating upon Lord would disturb with sleeplessness, and conduct journeys in accumulating wealth.  Oh! Natha, you have various incarnations, you are too compassionate to assume the form in which your devotees contemplate upon you, and worship you.  Whoever immerses in the highly pious deeds such as contemplating upon your glorious form, worship your lotus feet, perform various religious and spiritual rites, Yaga, perform charities, undertake extreme austerities and penances, would attain highest of the piousness, ultimately attains Bhramam, and I shall surrender to that soul.  I shall prostrate before supreme Lord Who is the source of creation, preservation, and destruction of the Universe and its living beings.  Oh! Supreme Lord who symbolizes Yajja/Adhimakha, supreme wisdom and knowledge, I shall prostrate before you.  Oh! Supreme Lord who assumes various incarnations and performs impossible tasks for the welfare of the souls, with no attachment and whose navel is the source of my birth, I shall prostrate before you.  Oh! Lakshmipathi, Kindly ignite my intellect to perform the task of creation at your will.   ”
The Supreme Lord replied “ OhVedagarbha, the whole Universe and its living and non-livings are the creation of mine.  Oh! Bhraman, continue your austerities and penances, you will come to know the real form of me and the Universe created by me.  The worshiper who realizes the all-pervading nature of me would get rid of all the sins instantly, he would get freed from the piousness as well the sins which cause rebirth.  The worshiper who realizes the real nature of the soul as supreme Lord, would unite with me instantly and attain Moksha.  I am pleased with your devotion.  Whoever eulogize me with these hymns contemplating upon my Nirguna as well as Sagunaroopa would attain my eternal grace.  People who engage in righteous deeds such as the construction of wells, ponds, the performance of charities, Yaga, Yoga, meditation, and penances would attain my permanent grace.  There is no difference between me and you, therefore create the three worlds and its living beings.” Lord Narayana blessed Lord Bhrama with Chathushloki Bhagavath as a tool for creation and returned to Yoganidra/cosmic sleep.

Lord Bhrama created four noble souls who are not bound by Karma, had complete control over senses, they are enlightened souls, Sanaka, Sanandhana, Sanathana, and Santhkumara and advised them to conduct the creation, but they were not willing to follow his command.  Lord Bhrama controlled his extreme disappointment, his eyebrows were curved, an adolescent with red and black complexion Rudra appeared in the middle of those eyebrows.  The eleven Rudra was named as Manyu, Manu, Mahinasa, Mahan, Shivan, Rithudhvaja, Ugrarethas, Bhava, Kala, Vamadeva, and  Dhrithavritha.  The female energy  Rudranis  were Dhi, Vriththi, Ushana, Uma, Niyuthth, Sarpiss, Ila, Ambika, Iravathi, Sudha, and Dheeksha as their consort and advised Prajapathi/Rudra to create Prajas.   Rudra created Prajas who had most powerful and fierce as Rudra, therefore Lord Bhrama advised Rudra to continue his penance.   Further Lord Bhrama created Mareechi who was born from his intellect, Athri who was born from eyes, Angirass who was born from face, Pulasthya who was born from ears, Pulaha who was born from navel, Krathu who was born from arm, Bhrigu who was born from skin, Vashishta who was born from Prana, Dhaksha who was born from thumb and Narada who was born from lap, Dharma who was born from right bosom, Adharma was born from Prishta/back, Mrithyu was born out of fear, Passion was born out of heart, anger from eyebrows, Lobha/greed from lower lips, Vagdevi from face, oceans from Linga/reproductive organ, Niruthi from Gudham/Anus, Kardhama was born out of the shadow, in this way Lord Bhrama created Prajapathis from his own body parts.  Lord Bhrama’s four faces represents four Vedas such as Rig, Yajur, Sama and Atharva, also created Ayurveda which represents knowledge in medical science, Dhanurvedha represents the knowledge of usage of armaments and excellence in Archery, Gandharvavedha represents knowledge in Music and Arts, Sthapathyavedha represents knowledge in sculptures.  He created Ithihasa and Puranas, he also created the prescribed rules and regulations of Shodashi, Chayanam, Agnishtomam, Apthoryamam, Athirathram, Gosava Vajapeyam, etc.. He created Athmavidhya/knowledge of self, Dhanam performance of charities and penances/ Thapas, Truthfulness that are the four foot of the Dharma.   he created Ashramadharma, also Vaikhanasa who depends living on fruits and fiber root vegetables, Valakhilyas who refuses the old meal when they receive the new one, Audumbaras who consume the meal from the directions they look immediately after waking up, Phenapas who lives on the fruits fallen on the ground, Kudeechaka who sincerely follows Swashrama Karmas, Bahvodha who gives no importance to Karma, Hamsa who is scholarly, Nishkriyan who is Paramahamsa/ enlightened soul with the knowledge of self-realization as well as God-realization.  He created Adhyathma Shastra, Vaidhika Shathra, Krishivyavasaya Shashtra, Rajyathanthram, Vyahrithi, Pranavam, Ushnik, Chandhass, Gayathrichandhass from skin, Thrishtup from muscle, Anushtupchandhass from nerves, Jagathichandhass from skeleton,  Pankthi and Bhrihathi Chandhass,

Chapter – 23 – The incarnation of Varaha /wild boar
Swayambhuva Manu and Shatharoopa prostrated before Lord Bhrama, stood before him with folded hands, and prayed “ Oh! The creator of all the living and-living things, kindly advises us how could we serve Your lotus feet? Kindly enlighten us which pious deed could bring fame in the world and Moksha after death.”
Lord Bhrama said “ Vathsa, I am highly pleased with your devotion. Oh! Bhoomipala, all the auspiciousness to you both, You have to produce virtuous offsprings, protect the Earth with an abundance of righteous deeds, worship Lord Hari with various fire sacrifices, that would make Lord Hari highly pleased.  Oh! Naprapathy wisely rules your Kingdom and protect your people and ensure their safety, welfare, and righteousness.   Lord Hari will get pleased.”
Manu said “ OhPapanashana, I shall obey your orders, Oh! Prabho, kindly allot a place on the Earth for me and for my subjects.  The Mother Earth is submerged under the ocean; kindly take immediate action to retrieve her.”  Lord Bhrama underwent deep meditation thinking about an immediate solution for the problem, but he could not find any, soon he thought of Lord Narayana and appealed to him.  While Bhrama was immersed in thoughts a thumb-sized boar emerged out of his nose, while watching it grew into a massive size, Bhrama assumed it must be Lord Narayana.  The huge boar had sharp protruding teeth, it produced defeaning roar that reverberated in all directions, Bhrama and deities were happy, and eulogized Lord Narayana.  Soon, the boar plunged into the ocean, in search of mother Earth.  It meticulously conducted a search under the ocean and heard a soft trembling voice of mother Earth from Pathalok“ OhYajjyavarahamoorthe, kindly protect me.” Varahamoorthi plunges deep down in the ocean, he moved to the direction where her frightening voice was heard, and elevated the Earth with his long protruding teeth and brought her on the surface of the ocean.  Immediately, extremely valorous Hiranyaksha who is the son of Dhithi and Kashyapa, approached Lord Varaha with his powerful mace, Lord Varaha sliced his head with his disc and the ocean water turned red in color.  Lord Varaha victoriously raised Mother Earth on his white sparkling teeth, the deities and Rishis eulogized Lord Varaha along Goddess Earth with the Vedic chants.
“Hail to Ajitha ! who is unconquerable, Hail to Yajjaswaroopa!” The deities and Rishis praised Yajjavarahamoorthi who symbolizes fire sacrifices and his limbs represents part of fire sacrifices, ingredients of fire sacrifices, priest of fire sacrifice and the provider of fruitful accomplishment of fire sacrifices. The Rishis and deities repeatedly prostrated before Yajjavarahamoorthi along Goddess Earth who symbolizes fire in the sacrifices.  The deities and all the living beings in the JanolokaThapoloka, and Sathyaloka were sanctified with the drops of water from the fur of the body of wild boar that splashed all over on his shake.  Whoever recites or listens to this glorious incarnation of Lord Varaha would be blessed with intense devotion and perpetual presence of Lord in their hearts.

Chapter – 24 – The significance of sunset
Shukadev Maharaj describes to King Pareekshith “ Oh! King, I shall narrate the conversation between Vidura and Sage Maitreya.”
Vidura said “ Oh! Illustrious Sage, You have described the glorious incarnation of Lord Narayana as wild boar and protection of Mother Earth from under the ocean.  Thus the demon Hiranyaksha was killed by Yajjavarahamoorthi.  Oh! Bhramajja, why did the battle take place between Varahamoorthi and Demon Hiranyaksha?”
Sage Maitreya said “I shall narrate the glorious myth of Lord Narayana which could remove the worldly bondage and liberate the souls from the repeated births.  Maharishi Narada described the glories of Lord Narayana to small boy Dhruva who is the son of Uththanapadha, he conducted extreme penance contemplating upon the supreme Lord and attained the grace of Lord Narayana.  I shall narrate the myth I have heard while Lord Bhrama described it to the deities.  Oh! Vidura, it was during the hours of sunset, Dhithi who is the daughter of Dhakshaprajapthi approached her husband Sage Kashyapa who is the son of Sage Mareechi, was tormented with the cupid arrows of Kamadeva, she wanted to have a child.  He found Sage Kashyapa in the fire sacrifice arena; he was immersed in the worship of Lord Vishnu who has the tongue of fire, and the protector of the fire of Agnihotra.  Dhithi lustfully approached the Sage Kashyapa, she expressed her desire to have a son like him.”
Dhithi Said “ Oh! Illustrious one, my father Dhakshaprajapathi had a great love for all his daughters, he asked our willingness to marry the groom of our choice, we thirteen daughters had an intense love for you, and thus we got married to you.  Oh! Mangalathman, kindly fulfill my desires. Oh! Mahapurusha, kindly shower your grace upon me to have a child-like you.”
Sage Maitreya continued “ Vidura, in this way Dithi praised her husband and persuaded him, but Sage Kashyapa took effort to put off her fire of love by praising her virtues and advised her to wait until the sunset is over.  He explained, the dusk is the hours of Rudra and it is the hours Lord Bhoothanatha wanders all around with his Ganas.  Therefore it is the hours to worship Bhoothanatha who symbolizes auspiciousness and virtues, he is the protector of spirits, he rides on the bull accompanies by spirits.  During these hours, Lord Rudra who is the husband of your sister has crimson colored matted hair lock, smeared in sacred ashes all over the body, watching the Universe and its living beings with his three eyes wide opened.  He is dispassionate, none of the Maya could win over him, and he had won over the sense.  It is a pity to note that we are trying to control our senses with extreme vows and austerities.  The pious souls contemplate upon the supreme ascetic Lord Rudra during the hours of sunset.  The people who have no knowledge of self would adorn the body with various fragrances and exquisite costumes, without the knowledge that the body is consumable for dogs.  He is supreme Lord, he is the Lord of Lord who is sincerely worshiped by all the deities, and even his consort Goddess Shakthi follows his command.”

Chapter – 25 – The conversation between Dhithi and Kashyapa Prajapathi
Dhithi shamelessly approached her husband; Sage Kashyapa realized that Dithi is not willing to wait for the sunset.  Therefore he took her in a place where no one was around and fulfilled her desires.  Sage Kashyapa took bath, performed Pranayama and continued his austerities, Dhithi was extremely guilty after the incident.   She approached Sage Kashyapa,   her head was hung down in shame and said “ Oh! Bhramarishi, I have committed a mistake, hence I shall prostrate before Lord Rudra,  my fetus should not be destroyed by Lord Rudra, who symbolizes auspiciousness, he is extremely kind and compassionate to pious, he removes the sorrows of the grief of worshiper, he showers an abundance of boons on the worshiper, and he is extremely formidable to wicked.  He imposes punishment upon the sinners.  Therefore I shall repeatedly prostrate before Lord Rudra.  He is the husband and dearest darling of my sister Sathi, he represents wisdom and auspiciousness, he is extremely compassionate even to the tribal people, I shall earnestly pray to shower his grace upon us.”
Kashyapa Prajapathi finished the evening rites and said “Oh! Abadhre/inauspicious, your mind is polluted, you have no control over senses, you have approached me during the hours of sunset which is appropriate for the veneration of Lord Rudra, you have ignored all my advice, and you have behaved disrespectfully to the Rudraparshadha.  Therefore you will have inauspicious children, who will harass the three worlds, they will torture the living beings on the Earth, and shamelessly approach the women and disgrace them.  The Sages and Rishis will curse them, at that moment Lord Vishnu takes birth on the Earth and kill them.”
Dhithi said “ Oh! Vibhu, I am prepared to accept the death of my children in the hands of Lord Narayana, but not from the furious Bhramins that would not let the souls enter into the abode of Yama after the death, and the soul even after several births remains unfortunate forever.”
Sage Kashyapa replied “ Dhithi, you have felt extremely guilty after the incident, you have equal respect for Lord Hara,  and Lord Hari, you have respect and affection for me, therefore one of your sons will give birth to a child who will be known as the fervent devotee of Lord Hari,  and praised by all even the deities,/Prahlada.  Lord Narayana would be highly pleased with your Pauthra/grandchild; he would be illustrious, magnanimous, and a great devotee of Lord.  He would contemplate on supreme Lord Hari and attain the highest of the piousness and fortune. He would remain virtuous, righteous, kind, compassionate, and unconquerable.  He would eradicate the miseries and grief in the world.  He would be the supreme devotee of Lord Vishnu who assumes various incarnations for his passionate devotee, he is the ornament of Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi, he is adorned in fish-shaped magnificent earrings, he has a radiant  lotus-like face, he has the eyes resembles lotus flower petals.”  Dhithi was extremely happy to hear about the virtues of her grandchild and remained calm to know that her two sons would be killed by Lord Vishnu.

She does not want to cause any harm to deities or living beings by her children, after listening to the predictions of Kashyapa Prajapathi.  The Dhikpalakas prayed to Lord Bhrama about the unique darkness that spread all over the Universe caused by the fetus of Dhithi, which was implanted by the supreme virility of Sage Kashyapa, they eulogized the virtues of Lord Bhrama who is the creator of living beings on the Earth.  Lord Bhrama pacified the Dhikpalakas that his Manasaputras SanakaSanathanSanandhan and Sanathkumara are in the abode of Sri Vaikundham to find a solution for all.  The abode where the supreme Lord  resides, he symbolizes auspiciousness, righteousness, supreme bliss and virtues, he is primordial, he  is worshiped by the righteous and renounced souls, contemplating upon him by reciting the Vedic chants, his abode is flourished with the rich natural resources and beauty of nature and divine wish-fulfilling tree  Kalpatharu, he is eulogized by celestials and Apsaras, even the birds are singing the praise of Lord Hari, woods are enriched with  the flowers of MandharaKuravaka, Jasmine, lily, Champa, lotus, PunnagaNagabagula, and  Parijatha,  are praising the virtues of Tulsi garland adorned by Lord Hari.  His sparkling abode is decorated with the fortresses built in precious gems and gold.  Lord Hari is relentlessly served by Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi, who worships Lord Hari with fresh alluring flowers of Tulsi.”

The Jaya and Vijaya who are the sincere attendants of Lord Vishnu misbehaved to Sanakadhis, refused them to enter inside the abode of Lord Vishnu was cursed by Sanakadhis.  Lord Vishnu received the noble souls with great honor and revealed his admiration for the twice-born, who always immerses in the contemplation of Lord, recitation of Vedic chants, performance of fire sacrifices, religious and spiritual rites.  Lord Vishnu exposes his happiness lies in the worship of Bhramin and offering meals, providing charity to them in the form of grains, clothes, land, cows, etc. Whoever humiliates Bhramin, torture cows or living beings would not attain the grace of Lord Vishnu.   Whoever, receives twice-born with pleasing nature and respects them, consider them as their own offspring, would remain the favorite of Lord Vishnu.  Therefore, the Jaya and Vijaya who were arrogant to the noble saints were ordained to undergo punishments and come back to the abode of Lord Vishnu, immediately after the period of punishment.  The Sanakadhis with folded hands prayed to Lord Vishnu “ OhDevadeva, who is beloved of twice-born, he is the creator, preserver, and destroyer of Universe and its living beings, he is primeval, he represents Yogamaya, and trinities,  we shall surrender to your lotus feet. You have established the Varna Ashrama Dharma, and it was sincerely followed by you during your life on Earth.  Kindly shower your grace on all the living beings on the Earth.”  The curse on Jaya and Vijaya began to work, they descend from the Sri Vaikundham with a loud shriek and entered in the womb of Dhithi who was already pregnant with the two fetuses.
Dhithi is a righteous woman; she was holding her fetus for a hundred years to protect the deities and living beings.  As soon as, Jaya and Vijaya entered the womb of  Dhithi, she gave birth to two male children.  The three worlds revealed various inauspicious signs at the birth of these infants.  There were natural calamities, earthquake, wood fire, hurricane, thunderstorms, lightning, woods were destroyed, the atmosphere was doomed in a dust storm, and sky was dark, oceans were packed with huge alarming waves as if shedding tears out of intense grief, lotus flowers where withered, rivers stream out aimlessly with its murky water, Sun and the moon had undergone various changes, there were inauspicious signs all over the world, animals produced cries out of fear and anxiety, they wandered all over aimlessly.  The birds fluttered out of its nest screaming loudly, cows were frightened and released blood from their bosom, clouds showered excreta, idols of deities shed tears, and trees were uprooted without wind.  Seeing the horrifying transformations in the three worlds, except Sanakadhis all the deities and Rishis were dumbfounded.

Chapter – 28 – The legend of Devi Bhakti/devotion
The grand recital of Srimad Bhagavath Mahapuran was organized by Maharishi Narada in Naimisharanya, all the illustrious Rishis and sages Shuka Shauna with eighty-eight Sages assembled, SanakaSanandhanaSanathan and Sanathkumara and Goddess Bhakti and her two elderly sons Gnana and Vairagya arrived.  The raised platform was occupied by Sage Sutha Pauranika, the recital of the significance of Bhagavath Mahapuran began, instantly Goddess Bhakti and her sons Gnana and Vairagya regained their youthfulness.  Maharishi Narada became delightful to see that even a drop of the Bhagavath Mahapuran brought tremendous changes in Gnana and Vairagya, he was confident that the recital of entire Bhagavath Mahapuran would do remarkable changes in Gnana and Vairagya to regain their youth.  Devi Bhakti was immensely pleased to see her children Gnana and Vairagya cheerfully dancing around after listening to the significance of the recital of Bhagavath Mahapuran.  She prostrated before the sacred scripture and Sutha Pauranika who was seated on the raised platform.  She earnestly prayed to Sutha Pauranika “ Mahatma, where should I be seated?” Sutha Pauranika replied, “ Devi, kindly take your seat in the hearts of the Sages and Rishis assembled”.  The inner meaning of this dialogue was Bhakti/devotion should be in the hearts of all the living souls, the place where the supreme Lord wanted to be seated with Devi Bhakti.  Once the supreme Lord take seats in the heart of devotees, he will not leave the place.  Devi Bhakti is his dearest darling; he would always go behind her.  Therefore, the practice of devotion is the initial state of attaining success in spirituality.  The Supreme Lord and Devi Bhakti take seats in the heart of devotees whose heart free from impurities like jealousy, pride, anger, lust, ego etc
Once, Maharishi Narada met a woman who was seated on the river banks of Yamuna in deep meditation.  Narada was immensely pleased to see her devotion, he went near to the woman who immediately opened her eyes and prostrated before Maharishi.  Narada enquired her who was she meditating upon? She said “ Maharaj, I am completely troubled with the beautiful little boy Krishna, he is not leaving my mind for a second, my mind is always chasing him.  Therefore, I am not able to perform any of my household tasks, I am getting shouting from my in-laws for not doing any household tasks perfectly.  They are calling me I am out of mind.  Once, my mother-in-law asked to milk the cows; I went to the cowshed and collected the milk while returning the black little boy appeared before me asking for milk.  I have poured all the milk collected on his palm to quench his thirst, I felt highly pleased.  In a  few seconds, I got out of my dream and saw all the milk collected were spilled on the floor, my mother-in-law screamed at me for wasting the milk.  Once, I was assigned the work of cleaning the rice when I was seated before the grinding stone, the marvelous little child Krishna appeared before me, I had a pleasant conversation for hours and hours, thus time has passed.  My mother-in-law shouted at me calling insane for talking to myself for hours and hours.   I am troubled with the little child of Yashomathi.  Once, she asked to get water from the river Yamuna.  I took the mud pot and went to the river to fetch water.  I have filled the mud pot, but it was too heavy to carry, soon there arrived the little child of Yashomathi and offered help.  I thought it is good that he arrived to help me in the right time, we lifted the mud pot together, but he left his hand, the mud pot fell on the ground and broken, I have returned home empty-handed, once again my mother-in-law started shouting at me.  I have decided I have to remove this little child from my intellect, then only I can perform any of the household tasks.  Maharaj I have tried all practices to shut him out of my mind and eyes, kindly advise me which practice I should follow to get my mind free from his thoughts.”  Maharishi Narada was stunned to hear the request of the young maiden of the cowherd, he thought the entire world is chasing behind the little son of Yashomathi, abandoning their homes and material well-being, practicing various Yogic practices, performing austerities and follows different methods of worships, meditation, etc..  The cowherds of Vraja were immensely devoted to the supreme Lord and he resided in their hearts as well as in their intellect.  Therefore the practice of devotion would bring the eternal presence of the supreme Lord in the hearts of devotees.   Hence, Sutha Pauranika requested Devi Bhakti to reside in the hearts of all the Sages and Rishis assembled to listen to the glorious myths of Srimad Bhagavath Mahapuran in the Naimisharanya.

Chapter – 29 – The death punishment to Ashwaththama
At the end of the Kurukshetra war, Duryodhana was severely injured on the thigh by the thrash of Bhima with his powerful mace.  Duryodhana was extremely tormented with the grief of the death of hundreds of brothers and all the warriors in the battle; he could not win the battle even though he had the huge army of Narayani which was offered by Krishna.   Pandava had less army of warriors compared to them, even though they had won the battle with the assistance of Krishna.  Ashwaththama felt extremely saddened to see the pathetic state of Duryodhana, and said “ Oh! Mithra, what shall I do for you? I can’t bear to see the miserable state of you.  Command me; I am willing to obey your orders. If you would have appointed me as the chief of the army of Kauravas, I would have killed all of the Pandavas.  You have appointed Bhishma Pithamaha and my father Dronacharya as the chief of the army; they both were not your side heartily.  They were always promising to Pandavas.” Duryodhana said in extreme grief “Oh! Ashwaththama, I cannot tolerate the humiliation and pain of failure on the battlefield even after having a huge army of warriors.  I would have satisfied if I could kill anyone of the Pandavas on the battlefield.  The Pandavas minimum number of warriors and had immense assistance of Krishna and won the battle.” Ashwaththama rushed to fulfill the desire of his closest associates.
In Hasthinapur, Lord Krishna who is Thrikalajjyani/knower of past, present, and future, advised the Pandavas to join with him in the celebration of victory in the battlefield, he took the five Pandavas from their chamber.  Later, the chamber of the Pandavas was occupied by their five sons. Ashwaththama entered the chamber and brutally killed the five sons of Pandavas and took their heads to Duryodhana who wept bitterly seeing the heads of children of Pandava “ OhAshwaththama you have committed a grave sin, I wanted the head of Pandavas, not their children.  I have not meant the end of the Pandava clan.’ Duryodhana left his mortal coil in intense guilt.
Arjuna promised to kill the murderer who caused the death of their five children after seeing the miserable condition of Draupadi, he took a vow “ Oh! Devi, I will produce the murderer before you, and you can kill him.” Arjuna chased Ashwaththama in the chariot driven by Lord Krishna.  Ashwaththama shot Bhramasthra but it was annulled by Arjuna with another Bhramasthra, as per the advice of Krishna.  He ran after Ashwaththama and fastened him with the rope, carried to the palace in the chariot.  He produced Ashwatthama before Draupadi and requested her to announce the death punishment.  But she rushed to Ashwatthtama and was unfastening the rope, everyone was stunned, she said “ Maharaj, it is the son of your preceptor.  He is a Brahmin,  he should not be killed, I do not want his mother to undergo the pain and agony of mine.  Therefore kindly release him.” Yudhishtira was pleased with the thought of Drupadi.  Bhima announced, he will kill Ashwaththama whatever happens, that would be final.  Arjuna was in dilemma, he had already promised, he cannot wave off his promise, he cannot go against his elder brother's verdict as well.  He looked at Krishna with folded hands “Oh! Parththasarathe, you are our ultimate asylum, kindly advise me.” Krishna replied “Oh! Arjuna, Ashwaththama is a Bhramin and son of your preceptor, killing a Brahmin would bring the sin of Bhramahathya, so he should not be killed.  You have to follow the orders of your elder brother Yudhishtira.  The Dharmashasthra says whoever commits heinous crime should deserve death punishment.   It is considered that humiliation to a Bhramin by shutting him out or shaving his tuft, is equivalent to his death.  So do what is appropriate for the situation.”  Arjuna understood the complex advice of Lord Krishna, he plucked the precious gem from his forehead and thrown him out of the palace that was equivalent to death punishment to Ashwaththama.

Chapter – 30 – Krishna protects the fetus of Uththara!
Krishna was prepared to leave the Kingdom of Hasthinapur, abruptly Uththara rushed to Krishna and fallen at his lotus feet saying “ Prabho, a fireball is chasing me, I am not worried about my death, I am extremely concerned about the child in my womb.  I am helpless, kindly protect me.”  Krishna lifted Uththara and said “ Devi, do not worry about your child.  I am here to protect you both.” He assumed the size of the thumb and entered in the womb of Uththara and circumambulated the fetus, thus he protected the fetus from Bhramasthra shot by Ashawththama.  The infant in the womb noticed the marvelous form of Lord Krishna with four arms, that moment the image of Lord firmly fixed in the intellect of the infant.  Even after coming out of the womb, the infant continued its search for that marvelous form of supreme Lord Krishna, thus he was fondly addressed as Pareekshith by the Pandavas.  Uttara felt deeply relieved from the trouble of Bhramasthra, she shed tears of immense joy and gratitude.
Devi Kunthi approached Lord Krishna while he was moving towards the chariot, and fallen at the feet of Krishna “Devi, you are my father’s sister, you are like my mother.  Mothers should not fall at the feet of their children.  You have to bless Me.” he fondly lifted her, she said “Krishna, will you keep quiet for a while? Otherwise I will forget to eulogize the supreme Lord before me.  All these years you have fondly addressed me as ‘Aunt’ so forgot to worship the supreme Lord and considered you as the son of my beloved brother.  Your words are filled with Maya, kindly let me praise your divinity. Krishna, I am luckier than Devi Devaki who lost all children to Kamsa.  I was not known of my enemies, I have lost my husband at an young age, my children were learned walking holding the hands of Bhishma Pithamaha, one day he stood with the opponent in the battlefield and fought against my children, my children learned Asthra Shasthra from preceptor Dronacharya, who turned against my children in the battlefield.  My children have consequently had to undergo humiliation and tortures from the children of Dhritharashtra.  Bhima had to consume the toxic pudding; Kauravas put my children to burn alive in Lakshagriha, exiled them from Hasthinapur, and had to live in disguise.  When they returned after all these punishments, they were forced to take weapons.  During all the troubles in my life, you were with us and protecting my children.  So I am fortunate than Devi Devaki.  You could not protect the children lost by Vasudeva and Devaki.  Therefore, I have nothing to ask you other than troubles, so that you will be always with me.  Therefore shower troubles upon me.” Devi Kunthi eulogized the supreme Lord who is all-pervading, assumes whatever form for his fervent devotee’s, he is primordial, he is not attainable easily, he resides as a soul in all the living beings, he is perceivable to righteous and pious, though he is covered in Maya, he remains unaffected by it.   In this way, Devi Kunthi described the supreme Lord in marvelous verses.  Krishna was pleased with the devotion of Devi Kunthi, she took Krishna back to palace, and thus she made him postpone his journey to Dwaraka.

Chapter – 31 – Yudhishtira’s grief and Bhishmopadhesham
Krishna entered the palace and found Yudhishtira in utter grief.  Krishna enquired the reason for his gloominess.  Yudhishtira replied “ Oh! Krishna, whenever I see the widows, elderly people, and children in our Kingdom, I feel extremely miserable, I have caused the death of several warriors to fulfill my desire to the throne.  I am not feeling comfortable after the battle of Kurukshetra, the victory is not giving me any happiness, and I feel I am responsible for the sorrows of all those people who lost their lives on the battlefield.  My greed to the throne took innumerable lives and made their dependents grieve over them.”   Krishna realized Yudhishtira needs a preceptor to describe the Dharma, not a friend, he needs someone who is elderly to advise him about the Dharma.   Krishna pacified Yudhishtira that he is not responsible for any of the disastrous events that took place on the battlefield, as a friend he has already advised the Gita which is the essence of scriptures, but they have not understood it thoroughly.  Moreover, Bhishma Pithamaha is waiting on the bed of arrows to finish Dhakshinayana, so Krishna decided to take the Pandavas to Bhishma Pithamaha.
Bhishma Pithamaha looked at Arjun and asked “ Arjun, why did you come? Where is your charioteer?” Krishna instantly came forward and stood near his face and asked “ Pithamaha! Did you remember me?’ Bhishma Pithamaha who was in the bed of arrows was extremely worn out, he heartily greeted Krishna and began to speak “ Oh! Arjun, Do you know who is this Krishna?’ Arjun said, “ Pithamaha, he is my beloved uncle Vasudev’s son”.  Bhishma Pithamaha continued “ Arjun, you have assumed him as your uncle’s son, Subhadhra’s brother and your brother-in-law, he was your preceptor and advised glorious Bhagavad Gita in the battlefield, he assisted you in the Kurukshetra war as your charioteer,  he is your closest companion to whom you can share all your family matters, but you have not understood him thoroughly.  Oh! Prabho, Krishna kindly fulfill my last wish,  I was waiting for all these days to get a glimpse of you, therefore it  is your turn to wait for me until I take last breathe.”  Bhishma Pithamaha had a boon to die as per his wish/Sweccha Mrithyu, he was waited in the bed of arrows until the Dhakshinaya to get over, and even the Lord Yama was not possible to take his life.  Bhishma Pithamaha advised the righteousness and all the queries of Yudhishtira were answered.  He eulogized the thousand and eight sacred names of Lord and said “ OhPrabho, Krishna, I have a final desire, kindly accept my young maiden as your bride.” Krishna laughed and said “ Pithamaha, you are a Naishtika Bhramachari, where did she come as a daughter of you?” Pithamaha said “ Krishna, my intellect is my daughter, I did not place anyone on my intellect other you.  I have not found any suitable groom as you for my daughter, therefore kindly accept my intellect as your wife.”  Krishna asked “ What are the qualities of your daughter?” Bhishma Pithamaha said “she is void of Thrishna/impurities, she has no attachment towards material welfare/ sacrificed the throne of the Kingdom of Hasthinapur, she has no love for offspring/remained unmarried, and she has no love for fame or appreciation.  Therefore she is qualified to become your bride.  You have discarded the vow on the battlefield and lifted the wheel of the chariot to attack me; you are too kind to me.  I shall take surrender at your lotus feet.”
Thus the Uththarayana has arrived, Bhishma Pithamaha looked at the pleasing face of Lord Krishna and let his mortal coil, the deities showered flowers upon him and attained Moksha.  He became one of the great devotees of Lord /Bhagavatha, and others are Swayambu, Shambhu, Narada, Sanath Kumaras, Kapila, Manu, Prahlada, Janaka and Bali.  Krishna and Arjuna returned to Dwaraka.

Sutha Pauranika continued “ Swayambuva Manu had two sons, Priyavratha and Uththanapadha, and the three daughters.  The daughters were DevahoothiPrasoothi, and Ahoothi,  Devahoothi was married to Sage Kardhama Prajapathi, this couple had nine daughters and they were married to Saptha Rishis.  Sage Mareechi was married to Kala,  Sage Athri was married to Anasuya,  Sage Angirass was married to Shraddha, Sage Pulastya was married to Havi, Sage Pulaha was married to Gathi, Sage Krathu was married to Kriya, Sage Bhrigu was married to Khyathi,  Sage Vashishta was married to  Arundhathi, and Sage Atharvana was married to Shanthi,  finally, Lord Vishnu was born as Kapila to this pious couple. "
The second incarnation of supreme Lord of Vishnu as Kapila, who was born to Devahoothi and Kardhama Prajapathi.  Lord Bhrama prostrates before the glorious incarnation of Lord Vishnu as Kapila.  The couple was led an extremely happy life with the child, soon after Kardhama Prajapathi decided to withdraw to Vanaprasatha as he was promised earlier.  He prayed to Kapila “ Oh! Supreme Lord, Sages, and Rishis are blessed to envision your divine form in their lotus-like hearts by their extreme austerities and penances; we are truly blessed to have you as our child, though we did not take any extreme austerities. Oh! Bhagavan, I shall reverentially prostrate before you, kindly shower your grace to liberate me from the worldly bondage, kindly bless me to envision your glorious form in my heart, and give permission to withdraw to woods.”   Kapila replied “ Oh! Father, I have incarnated to liberate the souls from the worldly bondage, and impart the knowledge of self, kindly proceed to the Sanyashrama and envision the glories of me.   I am a supreme soul which has the nature of supreme brightness, intellect, wisdom, and knowledge, resides as a soul in living beings; it has an all-pervading nature.  Therefore, relieve your sorrows and proceed to woods.”  Thus, Lord Kapila enthused his father to proceed to Sanyasashrama on the river banks of river Saraswathi, where he immersed in the meditation upon supreme Lord who is omnipresent, ultimately attained Moksha at the lotus feet of supreme Lord.

Chapter – 33– Legend of Kapila - Kapilopakhyanam
After Kardhama Prajapathi left to woods, mother Devahoothi and Kapila lived in the hermitage near the Saraswathi River.  The purpose of the incarnation of Kapila was to establish the Sankhya philosophy,  while Kardhama Prajapathi was alive, Devahoothi was immersed in the duties of a chaste wife, after his death she felt the need to attain the knowledge of self from her son Kapila.  Sage Maitreya describes the knowledge of Sankhya philosophies to Vidhura, later it was retold to Shaunakadhis by Sutha Pauranika.
One day Devahoothi approached Kapila, she considered him as her preceptor and prostrated before him “ Dear child, I have been enjoying the sensual pleasures all these years, Oh! Prabho, I have been wandering in the darkness of ignorance, it is filled with sorrows and grief, I am not capable to get relieved from sorrows and fears,  Oh! Dear child kindly liberates me from the darkness of ignorance, sorrows, and fears. You are not an ordinary soul, you are divine personified, whose brilliance resembles Sun that removes the darkness, kindly remove the darkness of ignorance with your brilliance,  I shall take refuge at your lotus feet which is the origin of supreme wisdom and knowledge.  Oh! Dear child, I shall repeatedly prostrate before your lotus feet.”
Kapila advises his mother “ Oh! Mother, the realization of self and supreme Lord who is absolute Bhramam, elevates the soul from the miseries and grief, the supreme Lord is all-pervading and witnesses the deeds of souls, involvement in spiritual deeds elevates the soul from the worldly bondage.  The supreme Lord symbolizes wisdom and knowledge, represents ‘Oneness in All’. It relieves the intellect from the worldly bondage with the intense devotion and faith upon the supreme Lord.  It removes the miseries and sorrows of worldly existence. Oh! Dear Mother, contemplate upon supreme Lord, who resides as a soul in living beings, it is eternal and has supreme radiance.  Every individual is capable to meditate upon the Supreme Lord with the Gnana/wisdom and knowledge, Vairagya/abandonment/control over senses/renunciation and Bhakti/devotion.  The practice of Gnana, Vairagya, and Bhakti provides ‘Oneness-in-All’/serenity of mind as well.  Therefore, Oh! Mother, kindly practice intense devotion and dedication upon supreme Lord, that would relieve you from the sorrows and worldly bondage.  Whoever listens to the glorious myths of me and spread the glories of me would be relieved from miseries and sorrows,   the body is perishable, the soul has no death and it is eternal, therefore attachment to the body is meaningless, which is bounded to Jara /aging as well as Maranam/death.  Hence, Oh! Mother, contemplate upon me, which could relieve you from the miseries and grief.  Whoever surrenders to my lotus feet, contemplates upon my glorious myths would be relieved from worldly bondage with the Gnana, Vairagya, and Bhakti.”  Devahoothi requests Kapila to explain the nature of knowledge, renunciation and devotion.
Kapila continues “ Oh! Mother, Bhakti is the prime tool to attain Moksha, listening to the glorious myths of supreme Lord and his pastimes, in this way utilize your senses contemplates upon the supreme Lord.  The practice of realization of the presence of the supreme Lord in every deed, and everything surrounded by you and envision the presence of the supreme Lord in happiness and sorrows as well.  It would burn the miseries and sorrows of worldly existence, like the Agni/fire which digest the food consumed.  Finally, it would take you to supreme bliss.  Oh! Mother, contemplate upon me and practice intense devotion and faith upon me.  I shall remain the preceptor, companion, son, relative, and will remain everything to them to whoever contemplates upon me with intense devotion and faith.”

Chapter – 34– The Legend of Druva
Sage Maitreya describes to Vidura “ Adharma/immorality had a wife Mrisha/untruthful, this couple had a son Dhambha/ego and daughter Maya/illusion, these two children were adopted by NairuthiDhamba, and Maya married and had two children Lobha/ and Nikrithi/possessiveness, later these children were married together and had two children Krodha/anger and Himsa/violence, and these children married together and had children Kali and Dhurukthi, these children were married together and had two children fear and death and these children married together and had two children's sorrow and aging/illnesses.  Thus the clan of Adharma/immorality had the children of impurities like ego, illusion, anger, selfishness, etc.. I shall narrate the details of the clan of Swayambhuva Manu and Devi Shatharoopa.  This couple had two sons Priyavratha and Uththanapadha and three daughters DevahoothiPrasoothi, and Ahoothi.”
Sage Maitreya continued “ King Uththanapadha had two wives, Sunithi and Suruchi.  Suniti was righteous, chaste and devoted to Lord, but she was not so beautiful as Suruchi,  was wicked and selfish.  Sunithi had a son Druva who was heir to the throne and Suruchi had a son Uththama.  It irked Suruchi who yearned for the throne of the Kingdom to her only son Uththama, so she influenced the King and tactfully removed Sunithi and Druva from the sight of King Uththanapadha, eventually Sunithi was removed from the palace and started living out with not any complaints. King completely forgot the existence of Sunithi and the five-year-old son Druva.  One day, while the children Uththama and Druva were playing together, Uththama rushed to his father and seated on his lap, Druva also desired to be seated on the lap of his father, he approached his father and tried to get on his lap.  Soon there arrived Suruchi caught hold of Druva and said in anger “ HeyVathsa, you have no right to be seated on the lap of the King, your father had no liking towards you or to your mother, therefore you have no right to be here.  If you were born to me, you would have the right to be here, hence you have no right to be seated on your father’s lap.  You are jealous of Uththama if you want to be seated on the lap of your father, leave your body and take place in my womb that would give you the right to be seated on your father's lap.”  Druva was deeply hurt by the words of Suruchi and looked at his father’s eyes, but he was quiet.  Druva rushed to his mother with tears overflowing on his cheeks.  Sunithi hugged her son and kissed him, consoled him and asked for the reason of his grief; the attendants of the palace informed Sunithi about the incident that took place.  Sunithi was hurt for a second, she released a sigh of grief and soon regained serenity. She began to speak “Oh! Dear child, don’t get angry or hate your aunt Suruchi, never hurt anyone it will come back to us, what you sow shall you reap, do not give sorrow to anyone and it will come back to you.  Oh! Dear child, Your aunt Suruchi was absolutely right because your father never considered me as his wife, you have born to an unfortunate woman, don’t feel sad for the humiliation.  Dear child, wake up and don’t get disappointed, we have supreme Lord as a father, who never leaves us.  Oh! Vathsa, whoever surrendered to the lotus feet of Supreme Lord was not neglected by him, therefore meditate upon supreme Lord,  all your sorrows will go away, divert your attention to the supreme Lord.  The Supreme Lord will accept you with intense delight the way as he accepted Goddess Sri.”  Druva regained his confidence, and felt his mother’s advice is fruitful, he wanted to envision that supreme Lord who resides as a soul in him.  The five-year-old Druva removed his royal attire and embraced the saffron robes, and got out of the home. Devi Sunithi did not stop Druva from his endeavor.

Chapter – 35– The Legend of Druva - The conversation between Druva and Maharishi Narada

Chapter – 36– The Legend of Druva – The penance of Druva
Maharishi Narada arrived at the place of King Uththanapadha and found the King was besieged with intense grief; Narada enquired the reason for his agony.  The King replied “ Oh! Maharishi, I have deeply hurt my five-year-old son Druva, I did not respond to the affection of my child who was trying to get on my lap. My son left to woods, I am deeply worried about him, and he should not get into trouble by the wild animals in the woods.” Maharishi Narada said “Your son will be a great soul, he will envision the supreme Lord Hari, I have met him in the woods, he is determined to witness the supreme Lord.  One day he will add fame to your clan.”  The King Uththanapadha was extremely happy to hear about the five-year-old Druva.  Suruchi heard the conversation between the King and Maharishi, she rushed to Sunithi and fallen at her feet, begged for forgiveness.  Later, the two wives peacefully started living with the King in the palace.
Druva arrived in Madhuvan and performed ablution, and immersed in the meditation upon the Supreme Lord.  During the first month, every three days he woke up from the meditation and consumed fruits from the forest, on the second month he woke up from the meditation on every sixth day and consumed leaves, on the third month, he woke up from the meditation on every ninth day and consumed water from the river Yamuna, on the fourth month, he woke up from meditation on every twelfth day and consumed air, on the fifth month, he did not wake up from the meditation, he stood on the one leg and controlled his breath, in this way he continued to penance for five months.  He witnessed the glorious form of the Supreme Lord within his heart and continued to recite the glorious chant.  The deities appealed to Lord Vishnu that the essential elements felt uneasiness by the penance of Druva.  Lord Vishnu pacified the deities and said: “ Uththanapadhi is undertaking extreme penance contemplating upon me, soon he will be blessed and come back to the real world.”  Thus Lord Hari left the abode of Sri Vaikundham to bless the child Druva.
The Supreme Lord Vishnu mounted on his celestial vehicle Garuda and arrived at Madhuvan to bless his ardent devotee.  Druva did not open his eyes and was immersed in meditation, in fact, he was taking pleasure in the magnificent form of Lord in his heart, soon Lord Hari erased his form from the heart of Druva,  he felt disturbed and immediately opened his eyes, witnessed the supreme Lord before him.  He remembered the glorious form of Lord Vishnu described by Maharishi Narada.  He prostrated before Lord and his eyes overflow with tears, he was trying to utter words, but Druva found difficulty in uttering any words.  The supreme Lord affectionately touched with his conch on his cheek and patted on his head.  Druva realized the compassion of Lord, soon he started eulogizing Lord in marvelous verses.
